Avanza Arkansas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering hardworking families and individuals with limited income across Arkansas and parts of Tennessee.
We strengthen communities by providing access to education, healthcare, financial tools, and cultural connection, helping people build pathways toward stability, equity, and empowerment.
Our work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive with dignity and purpose.
Avanza Arkansas was founded with the vision of helping working families move forward—“avanzar”—by creating access to education, opportunity, and community support. What began as a small initiative offering bilingual business consulting has grown into a statewide nonprofit serving families through programs in financial empowerment, health, education, legal access, and cultural engagement. Today, Avanza Arkansas continues to build pathways of equity and opportunity for ALICE and SEDI households across the state.
Empowering Working Families and Communities
Our mission is to empower hardworking families and individuals with limited income by connecting them to accessible education, essential resources, and collaborative networks that create lasting change.
We believe empowerment begins with opportunity. When people have the tools, knowledge, and support to grow, they build stronger families, healthier communities, and a more equitable Arkansas for everyone.
An Empowered and Inclusive Future for All
We envision a future where every person, regardless of background, language, or income, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Through education, collaboration, and empowerment, we’re building communities where everyone belongs, contributes, and thrives.
ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. These are working families who earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford basic needs such as housing, food, childcare, transportation, and healthcare. They work hard, often multiple jobs, but remain one unexpected expense away from financial crisis.
SEDI refers to Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individuals. These are community members who face barriers due to income, language, discrimination, immigration status, or lack of access to education, capital, or resources.
We reach thousands of families through education, financial literacy, cultural engagement, and health initiatives. From delivering backpacks to students to hosting business workshops and leadership programs, our mission of empowerment continues to grow across Arkansas.
At Avanza Arkansas, empowerment is a shared commitment that guides everything we do. Our values reflect the heart of who we are and the communities we serve.
We create access to opportunities that inspire independence and growth.
We lead with honesty, accountability, and transparency.
We partner with individuals, organizations, and communities to maximize impact.
We celebrate strength through challenges and adaptability in times of change.
We believe every person deserves the resources and respect to succeed.
